Enjoyed the brief listening. Joe & Martin interview gave a personal connection - hearing your speaking voices. Emailing w/ a personal favor - I'm looking for a Pat McManus from Fermanagh, b. c. 1820. Looking for gg grandparents: Margaret McClusky b.1830 in Co Fermanagh d. 1933 in Greeley Co Nebraska. & Patrick McManus b. approx 1820 Ire.- d. 1888 Greeley Co Nebraska.
Also looking for g grandmother & her parents all born in Co Mayo. Anne Teresa Faherty b. Co Mayo (1873 - 1887) - d. 1918 Greeley Co, Nebraska & gg grand parents Patrick Faherty and wife Winifred LaVelle
Margaret McClusky -1861 - 20 yrs, sailed from Ire to NY. Her sister Anna came to America too. Anna McClusky, b. in Co Fermanagh came to the US when she was 20 years, locating in NYC. Anna McClusky (McClosky in obituary) d.78 yrs. Apparently 8 McClusky siblings:4 brothers & 2 other sisters – I believe they all remained in Ireland.
My Patrick McManus rumored to have become a naturalized US citizen in 1865. I believe, Margaret & Patrick married in NYC. The family moved to Virginia, then to Pittsburg, Pennsylvania where he was a coal miner and worked for the railroad. Spring 1877 the family moved to Greeley Co, Nebraska. On February 19, 1878, they filed for a homestead claim. Margaret and Patrick McManus’ children 1. Mary Anne b. 1869 in New York. 2. Maggie (Margaret) b. 1871 in Virginia d. of spleen disease 1904, in Greeley NE. Maggie never married 3&4 Twins James E & Sarah b. 1876 in Pennsylvania.
James McManus m. Anna Teresa Faherty in 1908.
Sarah m. at age 44 to a Billy McManus – no relation). 5. Kitty A. (Catherine) b 1879 in Greeley Co Nebraska – died before her mother in 1893. 6&7. Hugh and Rose – died in infancy in Pennsylvania
James E McManus and Anna (Faherty) McManus (daughter of Patrick & Winifred LaVelle Faherty)
Patrick Faherty b. in Co Mayo in 1842. In May 1872 Patrick Faherty married Winifred LaVelle in Co Mayo. They had 8 children: Mary, Bridget, Anna, Thomas, Anthony, Austin, and Peter. In 1893 Patrick LaVelle brought his family from Ireland directly to Greeley Co, Nebraska. James and Anne McManus’ children: 1.Patrick b. 1910 2. Mary b. 1912 3.Edward b. 1914 4.James b. 1918 d. 1918 (died with his mother in the flu epidemic)5.Kate b.1916?. When Anna died of the flu epidemic in 1918 so did one of her sons. Mother & son were buried in same coffin. Bodies were not allowed in the church [Sacred Heart in O’Connor NE] on account of the epidemic. Anne’s sister Bridget (Faherty) McFadden was also in Greeley NE. Both sisters died in the same flu epidemic. Both were pregnant.)
Any information about Patrick McManus and his wife Margaret Clusky, or Anna Teresa Faherty and her parents Patrick & Winifred LaVelle Faherty would be greatly appreciated.
