Cover Art Competition
Indian decided to hold a competition among web visitors for the cover art on the 'Ten Years' EP.
We got in a lot of impressive work (and some hilarious stuff); but now the winner has been decided. This striking cover came in from jblue. We're not putting up the final version yet as he has kindly given us permission to modify his design slightly.
Congratulations to jblue, and thanks a million to everyone who sent us in a cover - we may yet find a way to use them all!
Here's a selection of other entries that came in. Browse at your leisure, but if you really like one, you'd
better download it. They won't be here for ever!
13 April
I know I said I wouldn't put up any more of these, but dammit, it's funny!
Comes from Declan, btw.
12 April
Today's cover comes from Vincent.
It's a bit literal, but I kinda like the look of it.
11 April
Today's contribution is from Fergal.
It's a nice trip down memory lane.
9 April
This cover comes from Jimmy (with a 'y').
I know it's a bike but it's not in a graveyard so it qualifies.
8 April
Orla sent us this one.
I don't know what it reminds me of so I'm not going to say anything.
Nice though!
6 April
Another one from Doug.
Makes me think of pinball for some reason.
5 April
Jimi sent this one.
It's the funniest of this type we've got.
I'm including it just to make the point that I'm not going to include any more of these.
That means no underwater babies, no motorbikes in graveyards, no cows looking over their shoulders, and no more hanging around the zebra crossing at TD's bar hoping to get a picture of the band crossing the road in a neat row.
4 April
Paul sent in this cover.
For some reason I get a Spider-man vibe.
It's certainly eye-catching. Not even Tom Dunne could miss this one in his inbox.
3 April
This one comes in from Ron.
It makes a counterpoint to Doug's cowboy.
(should I stop making all these little comments on everything?).
2 April
This cover is from David.
I like to think of it as 'The Walking Wounded'.
1 April
This cover comes in from Daisy.
Feels like an REM cover to me, very artistic.
31 March
We have our first contender. This is from Doug M.
Bit of a cowboy feel to this one, but I like it! Ridin' the range on ma trusty steer.
This is my effort.
There's a reason I'm called 'techie' rather than 'arty'
e-mail your creations to
techie@indiantheband.com, but hurry, you've only got until April 20th. The
best of them will be on this page until the launching of the final cover with the EP on May 19th in Dublin.
