The Stream

She took me down beside the stream
Where the water's cold and clean...

She tied my hands behind my back
And turned my face towards the sun...

And on my head brought down a stone
Smashed her knife through skin and bone...

Haven't I always said that I love you...
Haven't I always said
That I needed to
Be right there next to you.

She laid me out beside the stream
And with the water washed me clean

My skin is white and cold as snow
The water cleans as the water flows

And to the dying of the day
She washed and washed
IT ALL AWAY...
